Meet our experienced and talented Dance Team Coaching Staff at Thousand Oaks High School.

Jordan Jones
TOHS Director
Jordan Jones has been dancing all her life. She has found a great passion for teaching and working with the youth. She began her training over 30 years ago at various local studios, including Bobbie’s School of Performing Arts and eventually with the Thousand Oaks High School Dance Team. While on the team, Jordan was not only a four-year member, but a two-year captain and a top 10 USA Nationals soloist. She continued her education at San Diego State University, where she studied techniques of modern, contemporary, and composition. While in San Diego, Jordan had the privilege of being a member of the University Dance Company giving her the opportunity to work with professional artists. In 2013, Jordan graduated with her BFA in Dance, a minor in Sociology, and was selected by the faculty as the Outstanding Graduate in Dance. Since graduating, Jordan has had the privilege of coaching the Thousand Oaks High School TFT (JV) and Varsity Dance Teams. Throughout the years she has received multiple best choreography awards and has coached the varsity team to several national championships. Jordan feels honored to continue to be a part of the Thousand Oaks High School community and lead the program as the TOHS Dance Director.

Madison Pinherio
Varsity & TFT Coach
Madison Pinherio is a passionate and experienced dance educator and choreographer with over 10 years of teaching experience. Born and raised in Camarillo, California, Madison has been dancing for over 20 years, dedicating her life to the art both as a performer and educator. She specializes in a wide range of styles including technique, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, jazz, and jazz funk. Known for blending strong technical training with musicality and intention, she creates a dynamic and supportive environment where dancers can grow both artistically and personally. Madison studied at California Lutheran University, where she was an active member of the dance program and served on the dance cabinet. She currently coaches the Thousand Oaks High School Dance Team and teaches at multiple studios across Ventura County, sharing her knowledge and passion with dancers of all ages and levels.
Throughout her career, Madison has set numerous award-winning competition pieces, many of which have earned national titles and recognition. Her choreography is celebrated for its creativity, emotional depth, and ability to bring out the best in each dancer. She is excited to continue inspiring and empowering the next generation of dancers!

Marielle Alonzo-Thomas
Ballet Instructor
Marielle Alonzo-Thomas is an experienced versatile and expressive dance artist who graduated as a Dance major at the University of the Philippines. She started training at the young age of 3. She received high grades/ remarks from the Royal Academy of Dance. She was a performer, teacher, and choreographer in Ballet, Hawaiian, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Aerial, ballroom, and Hip-hop. She became part of Ballet dance companies such as the University of the Philippines Dance Company, Philippines Ballet Theater, and contemporary company/ Commercial dance companies like Airdance. She joined the West Side Story 2008 in Manila and made local music videos and TV commercials. Marielle became part of the Royal Caribbean International Production as a dancer in 2009 and got the opportunity to travel and perform around the world. She’s been teaching for more than 17 years and now she’s in California teaching around Ventura and LA County since she moved here in 2012. She loves to share her passion, motivate and inspire the next generations of dancers.

Michelle Peters
TFT Ballet Instructor
Michelle followed in the ballet slippers of her older sister and began dancing at age 3, training in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop. She grew up dancing locally on a competition team at Pam Rossi’s Dance Ten, performing in annual productions with the Moorpark Civic Ballet, and dancing and choreographing in the dance program at TOHS. She continued her dance education at Moorpark College, performing and choreographing for multiple productions and receiving dance departmental awards and a dance scholarship. She later transferred to Chapman University where she performed and choreographed with the hip hop team Floor 13 and in the dance department’s annual tap shows, ultimately graduating with a BS in kinesiology with an emphasis in dance science. While in college, Michelle began performing with LA-based dance companies Rithem Dance Co. and LA Dance Moves, teaching dance to students of all ages, danced as an extra in a short film, performed in holiday specials in LA, and started the process of becoming a Pilates instructor.

Sophia Pantoja
Redwood MS Head Coach
Sophia has been dancing since she was 3 years old and has 19 years of experience. She has trained in various styles, including Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Acrobatics, Character, Prop, and Game Day.
Her journey started at a dance studio, transitioned to Thousand Oaks High School Varsity Dance Team, and ultimately led to the Northern Arizona University D1 Dance Team.
Throughout her dance career she served as both co-captain and captain at Thousand Oaks High School and was Captain for 2 years and President for 1 at Northern Arizona University.
Sophia has choreographed a variety of pieces, including halftime performances, concert routines, media routines, sidelines, clinic choreography, training combos, and competition routines.
She is excited to continue exploring this art form and fostering a supportive environment for creativity and growth!

Katelyn McAdam-Rusk
TFT & Redwood MS Coach
Katelyn started dancing at a young age, training at Bobbie’s School of Performing Arts until the age of 15. She eventually joined the Thousand Oaks High School Varsity Dance Team her junior year and continued until graduation.
Katelyn currently is a junior at California Lutheran University and was on the Dance Team her freshman and sophomore year. She is so excited to be working with TFT and Redwood and is beyond grateful to be able to watch the growth within the program.
